Ms. Borgsdorf is a practice leader for process improvement and lean healthcare at Blue Cottage Consulting, working with clients throughout North America on patient flow, operational efficiency, reduction of medical errors, and patient safety issues. Prior to joining Blue Cottage, Ms. Borgsdorf served as Adverse and Sentinel Event Coordinator in the Division of Corporate Quality Improvement at the University of Michigan Health System. She developed a lean healthcare curriculum for professional education and led multiple teams related to the PDCA continuous quality improvement initiative. Ms. Borgsdorf was also an administrator of the Madison Patient Safety Collaborative, a joint effort to identify challenges and facilitate solution development focused on improving patient safety at six healthcare organizations. Ms. Borgsdorf earned her master’s degree of health services administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and her bachelor’s degree at Kalamazoo College. She has also completed the Lean Healthcare Certificate Program at the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
